I knew I loved you before I met you
There isn’t enough kind words to say about these two humans and the love I have for them. First I will lead with … MY FRIEND IS HAVING A BABY GIRL!! I have known Kristy since I moved to Edmonton in 2013, she is an incredible photographer (check her out here) she has not only been a huge inspiration in my life but we have become seriously great friends. I don’t know what I’d do without her and her friendship.
I remember when she called me to tell me the news of their pregnancy I was about to photograph a wedding and I cried in the car on the way to the ceremony haha now look, here we are doing their photos and soon their little baby girl will be here with us!
We decided to their maternity photos inside their newly renovated home as they took on the project themselves and spent many long nights + days painting, removing baseboards and putting in countertops. Blood sweat and tears went into this. Their home is where Kristy runs her photography business, where Chris works in the garage building all kinds of beautiful works of wooden art, where their dog Sasha runs around and cuddles up on the couch. Soon this home will be where they raise their baby girl, where she will learn to crawl, to walk, say her first words, where this family of three will become a family of four. It seemed only fitting to do the photos inside their beautiful home that houses so much of who they are.
Thank you Kristy and Chris for allowing me to capture such an important milestone in your lives! I love you both and I cannot wait to be there for your daughters birth..(sorry Chris but I promise it will be worth it haha)
