Playful anniversary couples session // Waterton Lakes National Park
Waterton, AB
My first time in Waterton Lakes National Park and it did not disappoint! We planned an impromptu family trip as our honeymoon got kiboshed (pandemic life) and we truly enjoyed soaking in the beauty of what’s right in Albertas backyard! I also was super lucky that Breanne and Chris just so happened to be travelling through and celebrating their first anniversary and they asked me if I would like to share in that with them by photographing a fun anniversary couples session – ummmm YES please! Breanne is also an insanely talented photographer herself, check her out here ; so I felt truly honoured that she asked me to document her and Chris.
Read below to hear from Bre and Chris about their anniversary and what it meant to them!
“Chris and I got married in August of 2019, and decided we would wait a year to go on our honeymoon to Croatia and Italy. Little did we know that making the responsible decision to wait and save money would come back to bite us! Of course, COVID happened and we had to change our plans. We decided to make the best of it and explore Alberta instead. We hooked up the trailer, grabbed our pup Archie, and headed south to Waterton Lakes National Park to celebrate our one year anniversary! Luckily, Carissa was vacationing in Waterton at the same time so we jumped on the chance to have her document our anniversary celebration! It was such a fun evening of laughing and popping champagne – Archie even learned to swim for the first time during our shoot! Although it wasn’t quite what we had imaged for our honeymoon or anniversary, it was a good reminder that the only things in life that really matter are the people you spend time your time with”
